Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for Krishak Bandhu (Death Benefit) Scheme.
Eligibility criteria: In the event of the death of any farmer or a recorded Bhagchasi (Share Cropper) in
the age group of 18 – 60 years, the legal heir(s) of the deceased will be eligible to get a one-time grant of
Rs. 2,00,000/- (Rupees two lakhs only).
Process flow for application at Duare Sarkar Camps:
Claimaint(s) can collect the application form from the Duare Sarkar camp.  Duly filled up application in
the prescribed form addressed to the Assistant Director of Agriculture (ADA) of the Block should be
submitted along with following documents:
i) Photocopy of the Identity of the deceased farmer/recorded Bhagchasi (Voter Id/Aadhar card).
ii) Photocopy of death certificate of the deceased farmer/recorded Bhagchasi,
iii) Eligible Claimaint(s) certificate(s) issued by the BDO in rural areas, ADA (Admn) in-charge
of the Sub-division or SDO in case of municipal areas and Legal Heir Certificate from the
Kolkata Collectorate or Kolkata Municipal Corporation and this Legal Heir Certificate can be
treated as Claimant Certificate in case of farmers resides at Kolkata.
iv) ROR of the deceased farmer/recorded Bhagchasi
v) Self declaration of the claimaint(s) in a specified format (available at the camp). In case of
claimaint(s) under 18 years, his/her legal guardian’s declaration will also be required on the
self declaration form.
Process flow of approval of the application:
i) The ADA of the block will scrutinize the application and undertake physical verification to
satisfy himself about its genuineness and completeness. He will also facilitate the issuing of
“Eligible Claimaint(s) certificate(s)” from the BDO in rural areas and ADA(Admn) in-charge
of the Sub-division or SDO in case of municipal areas.
ii) If all documents are found in order, the ADA will forward the application with all documents
to the ADA(Admn) of the Sub-division for approval.
iii) The ADA(Admn.) will approve the application after necessary checks and process for
payment of grant from the Treasury through IFMS. The fund will get credited in the bank
accounts of the claimants
FAQ regarding Krishak Bandhu (DB) Scheme

  1. Where can the applicants get the prescribed application form?
    Ans. Claimaint(s) can collect the same from the Duare Sarkar camp or may download it from the
    website www.matirkatha.gov.in or www.matirkatha.net.
  2. Who will issue the legal claimaint(s) certificate(s)?
    Ans. Legal claimaint(s) certificate(s) will be issued by the BDO in rural areas and ADA (Admn)
    in charge of the Sub-division or SDO in case of municipal areas.
  3. Can application form be submitted in the camp?
    Ans. Yes.
  4. If there are more than one claimant, will each claimant get Rs. 2,00,000/- ?
    Ans. No. The total grant amount will be Rs.2,00,000/- (Rupees two lakh only) per family and will
    be divided among the claimants as per “Eligible Claimant certificate” issued by the BDO in rural
    areas and ADA(Admn) in-charge of the Sub-division or SDO in case of municipal areas.
